Easter Sunday was absolutely wonderful! We started out our fun on the Saturday before, as we spent the day with our old friends, the Kimballs and the Carpenters. The Kimballs lived right across the street from us when we lived in Coronado Ranch 3 years ago. They have 3 girls that pretty much grew up with our 3 boys. They moved to Pennsylvania when we moved 20 min away to South Mesa. We spent the entire day with them, watching the movie "How to Train your Dragon", eatting lunch at Serranos (where most of the kids had chicken fingers and hambergers...) hanging at the park, and then going back to Carpenters house for a B-day party for Sydney - the Kimballs youngest girl. It so reminded us of all the times we used to have, and made us long for more!
On Easter morning, we hid the boys baskets as usual. (I do the filling of the baskets, Aaron does the hiding.) We also hid a bunch of eggs with dollar bills in them, as most of our boys would rather have money than candy. (smart boys) Joey found most of the eggs with money as he was the most exuberant searcher. Josh and Jake didn't realize the eggs had $ until it was almost too late. You snooze you loose! Aaron - the naughty naughty Easter bunny brought home 6 boxes of See's chocolate. Did he not realize that the assistant Easter bunny is on a strict diet and that her favorite chocolate is See's? Was he intending to sabotage her efforts? Was he jealous of the fact that her waistline was starting to whittle down, or was he merely being a sweet husband who wanted to bring me a nice treat? These are the questions in my mind that morning. The kids found their baskets, we had a nice huge breakfast, then all settled down to watch General Conference and fell asleep. Those General Authority voices are just much too soothing. Especially with a full stomach. We did get to see most of conference and it was WONDERFUL!
